    Default A Hello...

    Hello from Wet Welsh Wales

I am interested in straight razors and safety although yet to shave with either. After looking into more info I remembered I had this. It belonged to my father. It's kind of a combo straight/safety.

I have been told elsewhere that there is a seven blade version known as the "seven day razor" allowing a weeks shave without stopping etc. Mine has only three. I think the handle is for stopping but I am sure someone here will hopefully know for sure.

    Thanks

Anyhow, thought you may like to see:

That's the funkiest thing I've seen!

And welcome to the forum. There's quite a population of Welsh members now.

    Welcome.
All types of re-usable razor can come in different numbered sets. Yours, seeing as they are numbered 1 to 3 may be a 3 day set. Do you have it's box?
Where are you in Wales? I'm in Mumbles.

If that's not a cool razor, I don't know what is!
Do you plan to have the blades sharpened for use?
Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

I have seen Wilkinson's like that on ebay. They came with a case that had an apparatus built in to strop the blades. I am not sure if that is the same type. Looks like it could be honed and stropped if someone knew what they were about. Welcome to SRP.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That is one cool tool! Thank you for sharing it! If for some strange reason you want my opinion....get that baby shave ready and use it!!!

    Just found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Wilkinson-Sword-...ayphotohosting

Doesn't seem to be in as nice condition as yours, though.

I will give it a go. It's taking a trip to the USA for a week or two first though, someone wants a closer look.

That's the seven day version. Mine is smaller, with only the three days.

that is an AWESOME razor. I absolutely love it. Can you choose to use it as a straight, or as a safety?
