Thanked: 1Ebay Rip off????
I have a question I am hoping someone can answer for me.
I won a straight razor on ebay on November 13. On November 15 I received a message asking if I was interested in the razor as I have yet to pay. I was unable to pay as with the time difference and weekend difference here I was only on my computer infrequently. This is by no means an excuse however I have never had any issues previous.
I replied on Nov 16 and paid on Nov 16. While browsing ebay I came accross a razor that looks sucpiciously like the one that I had one. Then I saw that the razor on my item list said something about relisted.
Now my question is does this seem unreasonable? Nowhere on the item description said expecting payments within 2 days. Do I have recourse for this ie can I make a complaint?
Thanks

You might check into eBay's live help option and ask about it. http://us.ebayobjects.com/2c;27244793;12515765;n
I don't know ebay's policy on the time period for relisting an unpaid item, but I'll bet it's at least a week
Here are some of eBay's guidelines for relisting an unpaid razor http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/unpaid-items.html
We want you to be happy with your selling experience. If you don't receive payment for an item you've sold, we're here to help with guidelines and tools for resolution. If you haven’t received payment after 7 days, here’s what to do...Last edited by hoglahoo; 11-17-2008 at 02:29 PM.

If you paid with Paypal you won't lose your money and the seller cannot leave you a negative feedback due to ebay's new rules. May just be a misunderstanding that can be settled with some communication.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1I sent an email when I paid and havent received a response yet. I am not at all worried about my "reputation" as frankly if someone were to leave negative comments after me not paying within 2 days and after they had relisted only one day after sending me a message I am assuming they need more help in life than I can provide them.

If you paid via Paypal they might be able to help. You are going to have to give the process 3 weeks or so to work. Keep records of when you sent emails to the seller. If you go to Paypal you will need this information to get your refund. Be aware that anything you tell Paypal will be given to the seller. State just the facts. You can't argue with facts.
I am having an issue with the seller in our classifieds who has not sent the item (over a month now). I have requested resolution from Paypal. In my justifications I provided dates emails were sent by me to the seller, and the fact that there have been no responses. Paypal will have your records so those are beyond question for payment dates. Of the more than 300 purchases via Paypal I have had only 3 problems.

Do you have the link to the item you won? How many feedbacks does the seller have? If he/she has very few, perhaps they were a bit anxious and didn't wait to hear from you. That's always a possibility. There's always a possiblity that, however remote, the seller has more than one of them.
Work the system. Contact both ebay and Paypal with this issue. As much as you would like it resolved right now you are going to have to face the fact that it will take a few weeks at a minimum.
