    Default Guess who's back?

    Back again.
    Kasper's back.
    Tell a friend.

Hidey ho all! I've been on a ridiculous hiatus for what, 7 months now? Let my life be a lesson to all of you: never propose unless she's already told you her answer would be a 'yes'. I went out on a limb and had the limb sawed off right out from under me.

In the end though, that which does not kill you only makes you stronger. I'm doing pretty well since the whole "incident". I started going to church every week and doing things for just myself. It seems I'm a much better person because of it allt. I'll leave the "are you two talking again?" discussion for a later date.

In any case.... I haven't had a good shave since March or so. I got all the stuff. I got the know-how. I just haven't given myself the time to do it. One of these weekends I'll treat myself and start from there.

OOH! I've also gotten into a few other cool things. I'm hunting like mad anymore. Ducks and geese mostly. I've also gotten into watches a little bit and got myself an Eco-Drive Calibre 8700 (white face, black band) and I want a Stuhrling. Still not sure which one.

I also bought a new gun! A Springfield Armory XD-M. I got the black w/stainless slide. It shoots like a dream I tell ya! Ammo ain't cheap though. Sheesh.

Finally, I started exploring finer rums. I love rum. I can sit down and drink a whole bottle. I love it. I forget the name of the stuff I got, but I can sip it right on the rocks. Some Venezuelan rum. Anniversario? Something like that. I got pics somewhere around here...

    Anyway. I'm back baby! Woohoo!

Aw, man, I can so relate.

You need to be sure of a lot more than a yes before you propose. All I can say is it could be worse. You could have had the entire tree pulled out by the roots. Put it this way, you could propose, get married, have kids and a house, and then lose it all and wonder where she hid your kids for 18 years while she's off finding herself and cashing child support checks sent to her via the courthouse every month. Trust me, it could have been worse.

Taking care of yourself is the best thing you can do. That is the best way to make sure that things work out in the end. It sounds like you are doing fine, though the guns and whole bottles of rum is a little disconcerting! Hang in there and...

    Welcome back!

Guns....rum....they're both wonderful. But you gotta do them in a certain order:

    1. Guns
    2. Rum
    3. Cigars (Forgot to mention that one)

Drinking before guns is bad. Drinking after guns is awesome. :-D

Welcome back, kasperitis! You're a better man now, and taking time for yourself is always a good thing.

Nothing better than a good drink, a cigar, and a great shave to cap off an evening (not necessarily in that order...).
