Thread: macdiver we miss you

I haven't been to this site for awhile. I had also gotten lazy and was shaving with my m3. Every month or so I would receive an email "Macdiver, we miss you" from this forum. I would feel a little guilt. I finally broke down and sharpened my razors after receiving such an email a couple of weeks ago. I began shaving straight again and realized what a joy it is to take the time to Pamper myself. Ok, the first few times felt more like self mutilation until I relearned some of the skills I had lost.

Thanks for sending the reminders.

I am reticent to bring this up, but didn't we have a discussion about these types of emails a little while back?

If I recall correctly you can turn off the nag-mail in your user CP if you like Macdiver. Life is too short to feel guilty over a web forum. But hey, glad you found straights again.

I deleted the emails, but if i recall correctly (I'm usually wrong though), there was a way to select to not receive these emails in the email. I chose to keep getting these emails as a way to remind me to sharpen my razors and start using them again. I did not think of it as nagging per se, but as a gentle reminder. The summer and early fall are really busy and time flies; before you know it Thanksgiving is here, and the razors still need maintenance.


I understand the intent of the messages is to gain more active particpation in the forums, but I bet I'm not the only person who used the messages as encouragement for shaving straight.

By the way, I'm more of a lurker on bulliten boards and had been checking in periodically. I just don't login.

The option to receive mails like that has been turned on / off several times for those who didn't explicitly configure it. That is probably why you didn't get one.

When you took some time off, we did miss you.
But I figured that it was your decision, and that we should respect that. Hence, no mails from me.

But just in case you didn't know: we like having you onboard.
