How to Measure magnification
How can I see how strong a magnifying glass is?
I bought this magnifying glass Wholesale Magnifying Glass With Free Shipping From China Distributor and I want
to know how to test it to see how strong it is. I hear a lot of people talk about
magnifying and how strong the magnification is, but I would like to know the true
magnification of my magnifying glass. I have a few of them and some seem stronger then
others. How can I rate these? How can I pin a correct number on mine? How do the companies
that make these come up with these numbers.

Thanked: 6Magnifying glass: The angular magnification of a magnifying glass depends on how the glass and the object are held, relative to the eye. If the lens is held such that its front focal point is on the object being viewed, the relaxed eye can view the image with angular magnification
If instead the lens is held very close to the eye, and the object is placed close to the lens, a larger angular magnification can be obtained, approaching

yea, most magnifying glasses tend to be in the two or three power range. They are limited because they are usually designed to have a very wide field of view for viewing large things or to help in reading. In general with magnification it more about the quality of the optics and resultant image than the number of diameters your getting.
