There are often problems with overexposure or pictures that are too dark.
If you can't get a good picture with your camera try using a freeware photo editing program.
I recommend XnView. It's a free and simple program, but does a great job in lighten up pictures or doing some other smaller stuff.
While a program can't replace good skills in taking photos, it may help some people.

This is just plain not true. Not everyone using ebay or this forum is tech-savvy, nor do they have the latest digital camera. My Sony CyberShot doesn't have a macro setting, nor does it have white balance capacity. I take the best photos I can with the camera I've got and I'm not trying to hide anything. I'm sure a lot of others are doing the same.
While Utopian may be correct in a great many or even most cases, there is an alarming correlation between poor quality images and questionable sellers on ebay. Here on SRP I think Utopians argument is more valid.
