Thread: Giving razors as presents

so apparently i am obsessed with razors in my parents opinion. i will admit to being enthusiastic about them though.

so i gave my Dad a Gillette Fatboy (he builds custom harleys so i thought the name was funny plus people seem to really like them), my brother in law Gillette Slim Adjustable (he wants to get into using DEs and maybe straights) and my girlfriend bought me my first badger hair brush (which works great). also my dad bought my mom (via me ordering it Fendrihan) a Weishi DE so she would stop using his.
i did also buy myself a Fatboy off ebay to replace the slim i am giving to my brother in law (great deal for $13) so that is a present from me to me.

unfortunately there where no straights gifted as i haven't gotten them to that point and they have no clue where to buy one for me. i think next year my brother in law may be ready to try out a straight so i am sure i will find one for him in the classifieds.

so, i know there is already a thread about what razors people got for Christmas, but did anyone give some away? (i know, just talking about giving razors away is wrong )

I bought a couple of those Double Arrows for some folks at work... just to get them started. We'll see if they sharpen up OK.

I lent them some Dovo's in the meantime.

My father-in-law gave me two razors for Christmas and now I think about it I screwed up. traditionally if somebody gives you a knife you're supposed to give them a coin in exchange. I didn't give him a coin. damnit. I'll have to rectify.

well then rectify that quickly! try these (they are nicer than the obama coins)

i gave a straight and a strop to a friend at work... he is probably still lurking around here

yea get the american buffalo coin and he'll love ya.

I gave JoeD 2 new str8t's for Christmas. He gave his boss a basic shaving kit with a str8t, shaving cream, brush, bowl and Bay Rhum aftershave.
