Default Do I need to fix my razor

Since I havn't been able to find a strop for my razor (any suggestions for a place to get one in Phoenix?), it has been a good while since my razor has been honed. Once I find a strop, what should I do to get the razor in top-notch order?

Keeping in mind that honing and stropping are two entirely different things I would recommend that you send the razor off to one of the local honemeisters to be honed. This way you are starting with a fresh blade which with proper stropping should last you a good bit of time. Check the classifieds for the honemeisters and check the vendor corner for a strop, there are several vendors who are also members here that have them for sale.

You will eventually want to invest in a barbers hone to keep the blade top notch for much longer than stropping alone.

If you are not stropping the razor you are probably not shaving with it either, send it out to be honed while you are shopping for your new strop!
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
