Thanked: 0I see spots!!!!
Hey folks I've been lurking for a while now and have been able to get most of my questions answered through the search feature. Thanks for all your unknowing help. I've got a problem now though :-/
I bought a Wapienica from the Invisable edge and the day after my first attempt at shaving I opened up my brand new razor to see spots on the blade!!! I made sure to dry the razor before I put it away but I'm assuming those spots are rust. They don't rub off... I have not contacted the Invisable Edge people because I'm assuming this is my fault somehow.
Is there a way to clean that up? I am a jeweler and have a polishing machine but I'm more then a little hesittant to put a shave ready blade against a spinning wheel (not the edge of course but still). It doesn't take Nostradomus to see that could lead to a very unhappy future.
Any suggestions?

A soft cloth, a little MAAS, and a touch of elbow grease ought to do the trick!
Dry the blade well before putting it away in its coffin or drawer or wherever you keep it! If your bathroom is constantly humid you might consider keeping your razor in your sock drawer or somewhere out of the humidity!
Keeping it in its coffin in the bathroom should protect it from the humidity!

Hello,
Did the razor go back in it's box? I leave mine out to air overnight. It sounds like water staining on a carbon blade & it's highly likely to polish out with no detriment to the razor.

Not necessarily rust spots. Most likely will go away after rubbing with metal polishing compound. In the future, it may help to remove excess water from the razor before it is stored. I keep my razors in a wooden box in my sink ;-).
Al raz.

Thanked: 0I did dry it off before putting it back in the plastic thing it came in. I'll give the metal polish a try. Thanks!

Always make sure the inside of the scales are dry. Many do the mistake of cleaning and drying the blade after a shave but forget to let the inside of the scales completely dry. I usually clean my razor after each shave and let it dry with the blade out of the scales.

Good point Max! I always run a piece of tissue paper between the scales and against the tang in the scales!
