Thanked: 953Doctors tell me most stuff dies pretty quickly, as described above, like HIV should die in the time the razor is shipped to you. I tend to let the razor sit a couple days, barbicide it, hone it, shave care free.
The only thing no one mentioned is "girl cooties", which I recall from third grade lasts even longer than anthrax spores, so be careful if you think there is any chance a girl touched the razor. Otherwise, if you cut yourself shaving you might become "icky", which you just don't want to do.
On a serious note, I would be curious to hear from any of the doctors on this forum whether anything nasty could survive in those old kind of moldy looking cardboard razor cases, and then jump back down on the razor after we clean it.
