Red face My trip nach Deutschland

Hello all. I am a fairly new straight shaver, shaving for maybe 2 months now. I leave for schooling in Germany next month and have to now bring a whole arsenal of shaving supplies with me. I am taking one old Blue steel Razor form germany, an alum block, a franz swaty, badger hair brush, homemade shaving soap, and a new invention. I purchased a paddle strop recently off line, and old one of course. However i wished for a strop to help me through 4 months without a hone. I think i have created a semi-legitmate strop/hone or what the Germans call Streichreimen. I present to you Herr Streichreimer, one side leather from an old hanging strop, the other a double layers denim, another chromium oxide paste on Balsa (optical grade), and another a rougher leather side which i dont so much use. A cheese cloth seperator keeps the chromium from the balsa off the denim.

do comment on any improvements or anythin gels ei shouldbring with me. and if you can see the photos

I can't log into see the setup, but a swaty and chrom ox should keep you for a while. Maybe make another strop with boron carbide for a slightly courser surface

That looks complete and very inventive!

I would take along one more razor if you have one.
