amazing how a blade evolves to dull
This morning the wife and daughter were gone. I had four razors I had been using for several weeks. The shaves had been getting worse. Getting dull is a slow process and I forget how sharp a razor should be. I use a little more pressure and tolerate a little more discomfort but I was still getting ok shaves. I have dozens of other razors but only keep three or four out at a time. So on to the story. I keep a bout in the bathroom but haven't used it lately. I shave a lot of surface with both the head and face. The head is kind of hard on a razor edge. This morning I took my four blades and put them to the coticule then the hand american flat bed pasted with CrO2. Hit each with a hundred laps on the hanging strop. I forgot how good a shave could be, hot towel and bay rum. I test shaved each and all performed great. I know better than to let the blades get dull but they deterate slowly and we sometimes forget how good they once were.
Here art the pics: Three union spikes and a dovo, I love the union spikes they really don't get the press they deserve and can be had for a ten on ebay.

That sounds great .
Good tip: keep a Coticule or BBW stone in your kitchen. Each time right before using my knives in the kitchen I give them some passes on a Coticule bout. This way you can cut up your meat and vegetables very smooth!
