Thanked: 0Professional Straight shave in Phoenix/West Valley?
So, I've convinced my brother that straight shaving is worth looking into. Unlike me however, he'd like to get a professional shave before running out and buying a razor. This works out well for me though because he wants to buy me a shave for doing the research that made him realize shaving might not have to be a dreadful experience (he has skin that is sensitive to the way we were taught to shave like I do).
The question is, what are some good places in the West Valley/Phoenix area (we're in Peoria) that are a good value?. He doesn't want to spend a lot, but at the same time we don't want to go to someone that doesn't know what they're doing either. Most of the reviews I've looked at online usually include a haircut, shave, and shampoo or massage. We're not looking for all that (especially since I have long hair and cut it myself). Just a hot towel and shave for a decent price. Any suggestions?

The only place that I've seen is Dolce Barber shop near Chandler Fashion Center. I didn't try the shave (starts at $50 ). It looks like there's a location in Peoria too. Here's a link;
Arizona's largest barber and day spa ~ Dolce Barber & Spa ~ Hair Care
There are probably more that I'm not aware of. Good luck!

Thanked: 0Thanks, but that's more expensive than I think he wants to pay for. It seems like a pretty fancy shave for the price, but something simple for the first time is what we're looking for. I keep finding places in downtown Phoenix, but the reviews aren't very specific and none really say how familiar the customer was with straight razor shaves beforehand.
Edit: It looks like there's a V's in Peoria that has $25 shaves. I think that we'll end up giving them a try, although I'm still open to suggestions.
Anyone tried V's?Last edited by darobison; 02-02-2009 at 09:58 PM.

Thanked: 0Thank you. That's what I keep finding online too. I've kept looking and everywhere else I can find either only says they do straight shaves with no review of the shave itself or they're all the way on the other side of town. I'm gonna have to report back on whereever we end up going as good reviews are hard to find online.

Thanked: 0Ok, the appointment is set. My brother and I and now my father too, are going to V's in Peoria on Tuesday. I'll start a new thread with a review afterwards.
