Local Manly Store?
I don't quite know if I am posting this in the proper area, so excuse me if it should be listed elsewhere.
I live in St. Louis, Mo and was wondering if anyone knows of a local store or chain that would carry shave soaps, aftershaves, bar soaps and other general manly items. I would purchase them online, but I would like to support the local market and smell/test things out. I am new to this and have no idea what scents and type of things I will like. I have tried Walmart, but am looking for a place devoted to those items. Also, mainstream stuff tends to be real chemically and I want to avoid that.
Thanks for any info.
Nate

I was at a mall the other day, and found a C.O. Bigellow store. They've got a whole shave section. Bath and Body Works has a small selection as well.
However, as far as a local store...that'll be difficult. I'd say your best bet is a barber shop.

I can see why it's a favorite Doc! Thanks for the pics. Wish there was one up here.

That's it!
That is exactly the kind of store I am looking for!!! How far is St. Louis to Charleston again? Lol. If I could find something like that within an hour or two of St. Louis, that would be great!
Whatsthe2ndDfor Thanks for the suggestion!

No problem. Bath and Body had a bunch of C.O. Bigelow stuff, but most importantly, they sold Proraso.
I've found Art of Shaving stuff at a Von Maur (like a Kohl's, but way fancier). I know that AOS has a link on their website to find local stores that sell their products.
According to this link on their site, AOS has products available at the Neimann Marcus and Maxwell's in St. Louis.

Oh sweet Jesus! The Art of Shaving has a store about 5 miles from where I work! I know where I am going as soon as 5 o'clock hits!

You should keep an eye on the Mid Mo Meetup thread and plan to attend. I have at least 25 different soaps you can smell and even whip up a bowl to check out. I have Tabac, Mitchell's Woolfat, Trumpers, Oggalala, Mama Bear's, QED and others in various flavors. There will also be the other usual Straight Shaving paraphernalia. Online soaps give you a much greater choice than local outlets. Hope you can attend.
