GOOD MORNING CAMPERS , It's a beautiful morning here in the No Bay. Looking forward to the drive over the Bay and meeting fellow honers and straight shavers at 1pm. Safe driving.

Good stuff today, and a sizable turn out. We had about 15 people or more. Joel from B&B was doing the demonstration, and did a great job. All new faces. Mostly names from over at B&B, but a few that I've seen around here.

The venue was perfect for our size crowd. In the back of Japan Woodworker is a large room setup for exactly this. A large table, a whiteboard, chairs all around. I hope that we can do other events there. The staff was very accommodating. One of them joined us for the event, and even brought his straight. The shop had tons of good stuff. Even a few things that would be useful for us (hones, sandpaper, oils, etc).

Joel brought with him a good selection of hones and paddle strops: DMT's, Coticules, BBW, Thuringian, Shapton Glass 16k/30k, pasted four sided, etc. The main progression used was DMTXE, DMTXEE, Coticule, pastes, leather.

It was a great event, especially for such a novice like myself. Before I knew it 3 hours had gone buy... SWMBO was waiting for me the whole time. Yes I bought her dinner. A special thanks to The Japanese Woodworker, Joel and I might add one of the guys from B&B that brought us a load of samples. I hope we can organize more events like these later one.
