    Default coticule or 12000 grit?

Hey guys, I'm posting this here in the general forum because the hone forum seems to not be very popular with posts lately. My question, the razor is starting to get a bit uncomfortable when shaving. Pulling and still jumping. I've stropped the thing like crazy and the results have remained the same.I'm thinking it's time for a touch up on a barber hone. The timing seems about right too I guess. I've been using it for at least 6 wks to 2 months since it's initial honing. I'm torn between a 12000 grit from SRD or a yellow coticule from Classic. Who has had experience with both of these and which might be more newbie forgiving? I like what I've read about the coticule being so versitile, water vs slurry. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks as always, Jeremy-

I personally don't have an awful lot of experience, but if I could have one hone only it would be the Coticule. I have both - a coticule and a chinese 12000 grit, and I don't use the 12000 any more - I shave straight off of the coticule (water only, no slurry). If you need to cut a bit faster, add some slurry.

+1 for the coticule and water ... I also mix a drop of liquid soap with the water. I also have a 12K that I don't use any more. I also tried pasted strops but stopped because the edge off the coticule lasts longer and is very smooth.
