Absolutely makes me feel warm inside. What simple times those were. I sometimes wish I was growing up in that era to enjoy the many simple pleasures. I can see it now. Pull up to the ole barbershop in a '32 Ford Coupe, step into the shop to get a nice warm straight razor shave, hang out and chit-chat with the old wise barbers. Ahhh...

Cool, I went to a barber shop that would have fit right into that set when I was a kid. Hell, my barbershop now would....

And guys, those pictures were all taken in the last year or two...Why would you be driving a '32 Ford?

The barbershops today are not quite the same as they were early last century or even in the 50's, 60's, etc. Things are so fast and convenient these days and I feel that life seemed like it was a little more simple back in the day. As for the '32 Ford, well, my fantasy, my choice of car.

All the pictures from the OPs list are of vintage barbershops that are still open, except perhaps the one that was planning to close in 2009. So, you can still find some of those old fashioned babers if you would like to relive the good old days of the 50's...

I've thought about it. There are actually a few in my area that still cater to shoe shines and straight shaves. Nothing like the smell of a real barber shop! Ahh.....
