Classicshaving is where I've got most of my stuff, my razors from Lynn, or other members.

Beer making supplies from a local place in town.

Well, I recently purchased a razor, strop and hone from classicshaving.com. On checking out it was clear that I paid around $13.00 for shipping to where I live in Canada.

Yet, the parcel showed up at my door and the mailman hit me with a $37.50 COD charge! Why? Am I missing something? ops:

    Lynn please help!

I have made several purchases from Classicshaving. The COD charge when coming to Canada is the duty and taxes that the Canadian Gov wants on imported goods. It has nothing to do with where you order only how much they cost and what type of product the inspectors think they are (most times they don't even open the package)
Some e-bay sellers will put a declared value of $1 or "gift” but I wouldn't advise this for stuff that is new or valuable incase of shipping damage or loss.
This is just what I have learned from my experience. Hope this helps

Normally, I show out of country stuff as a gift as well, but I am not a business. By declaring the goods, I believe they are doing the right thing. Sorry. Lynn
