    Default Gold etching on Dovo (black star) coming off

    Hi,

    I have a Dovo BlackStar I bought for xmas. The gold etching othe the tang that reads "dovo sollingen germany" is coming off. :!:

    Is this normal ? I

    These gold filled etchings are called Gold Wash, and they are fairly delicate. With great care you can save them, but with use, cleanig, honeing and stropping it will evetually go BYE-BYE. I have a PIC from Solingen that was used twice and the gold was gone, however the etching is still there so it is still pretty cool.
