Thread: Dreaming of Straight Razor. have you?

not sure if this is the best spot for this but here goes.

so i had an amazing shave last night, still not perfection but as good as any i have had since starting with the straight, or anything else i guess. i attribute this to keeping the cream warmer, and using an all natural shave cream (nature's gate cucumber mint) in combo with the Wilkinson sword soap i have to make Uberlather. it seems that my skin really seems to cool down and close the pores up fast so the warm lather in combo with rinsing with hot water between passes was great. i swear i could have done 10 passes and been fine, which is not the norm.

so it must have been an amazing shave cuz i had a dream with a SR in it which i have never had before. in the dream (unfortunately although i always dream, i seem to only remember parts of them) i encounter a salesman type guy, i just happen to have a SR in my pocket (i think it was a Dovo with black scales, no etching, which is weird cuz i don't have one like it) and we talk briefly about it, and somehow he convinces me to let him borrow it. i leave for a short period of time (though i don't remember where i went and for how long) and when i come back the guy is gone, and a girl (short dark hair, good looking) is there instead. when i ask her about my razor hesitates a bit and then says she'll get it. but the razor she hands me is rusty, has gold wash and etching, crazy hone wear and the scales were beat up and warped. this is where the dream turns into a Jason Bourne type thing (which is not me ) as i try to find out about the guy and where my razor is. i didn't hit here but there was threatening i think and she tried to get away but i stopped her. and then........... i woke up.

pretty crazy, sorry if it is weird to post a dream i had, but like i said, i have never had a dream with a straight in it. hopefully there aren't any dream experts on here who i are going to analyze my dream and tell me i am a weirdo, i already know that

so has anyone else had a dream with a SR in it? what was it about?

I've actually had a couple of dreams where I went into an antique store and asked if they had any straight razors. Then I start looking at the shelves, and they're FILLED with razors of all shapes and sizes!! And when I ask him how much they cost, they're CHEAP! Now that's every razor collector's dream.

I'm sorry, a dovo in exchange for a cute short haired brunette and a rusted up junker seems fair to me.

I'm totally with you. Whenever I get in to something new, be it a new instrument, a new hobby, new video game...whatever, I ALWAYS end up having dreams about it for the first week or two. So yes, I've had several razor appearances, though nothing as entertaining as either of those mentioned.

the weird thing is that i have been using a SR for over a year and this is the first time it came up in a dream. it seriously felt like an action movie at the end though, like the girl turned on me but i reacted right away and then she tried to run but i was right there. hilarious. apparently i really like my SRs. and all because i had a great shave.

also i think the strangest part about the SR being in the dream is that i didn't shave with it. having a dream about shaving would be normal i guess. i will admit, that was by far no where near the strangest dream i have ever had, i have had some weird ones for sure.
