Thanked: 324A good example of why Ebay can really suck
I happened to notice this razor:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6539251556
with this description: "This is an old straight razor in a Mayflower Works Boston, Mass. Razor. It has a slightly chipped blade. Otherwise it is perfect. It is hand carved."
Thinking a little education might be in order, I sent the seller a note through the ask the seller a question utility.
You asked:
"Fortunately, the picture was clear enough to make your description of "slighly chipped blade but otherwise perfect" a joke instead of more bad feedback ready to come at you. It's like listing a house that's a pile of rubble after a twister hit as a "handyman special - delightful but needs work". If there was an adequate description of the scales (handle), and there really WAS carving on it, you might have been able to get something out of it, anyway. I was contemplating buying it for the handle (the blade is completely destroyed), but since we don't know what material it is and there's no evidence whatsoever of handcarving on it, I'll pass. 100% satisfaction guaratnees are better than nothing, but they don't replace fair and honest descriptions."
response? (why am I not surprised)
"Its Ebayers like you that make me sick. You don't have anything but negative comments to make. Life is too short to spend it surfing ebay and whining about items. If you don't like it, Don't buy it. I think you ned to look in a mirror and see deeply that you need to talk to people in a respectable manner. That is probably why you do not get any in life. Have a nice day. I will go back to ebay. A wonderful thing for me and my friends. Probably not for you. So go back to your computer and find some one else to bitch at. ECV$ME!"
Everyone who would like to do business with this warm and wonderful lady, please raise your hand.

Thanked: 0I had to take a look at this razor after reading the post. Oh my word. I felt I just had to send an email as well after seeing that not only is the entire bottom of the blade simply missing, but it appears a goodly chunk of the handle is as well. I'm sorry, but people like this certainly deserve to have their attention brought to bear on a listing like this. Thanks for sharing this little gem.

Thanked: 324You can expect an extremely ugly response from "[email protected]" for your efforts. Her dishonesty is only matched by her patently vile personality.

Thanked: 0I just looked at her feedback, it looks like she sells a lot of garbage. She went as far as saying "Yuk Fou" on a reply to negative feedback that someone left. I think I like her.

DJ,
3 negatives out of 1011 feedback? 99.7% Can't be selling that much garbage.
Looks to me like a lady who typically sells pretty good stuff, had one bad buyer who got broken goods and instead of asking for a refund as she asked just gave her a neg.
She probably knows nothing about razors and this is the first one she had. Instead of targeting the unknowledgable we should go after those who know what they have and misrepresent it. Those are the dealers who will trap us because they sell something lesser than they describe. None of us would fall for this woman's razor anyway. I do agree it's a terrible razor though!

Thanked: 324Until she told me she sold hundreds of razors, I was trying to giver her that benefit of the doubt, too. After seeing more than one or two, you'd think someone with 2 brain cells to rub together might be able to tell the difference between completely destroyed and almost perfect.
But.. those how like her style can save her as a favorites in their seller file to stay up to date on the next great deals!

Thanked: 324By the way, this is good seller with which to illustrate the flaws in the "feedback" system.
It's not unusual for sellers who sell tons of cheap junk to have little or no bad feedback. It's not worth the hassle for a few bucks to get repciprocal bad feedback. And anyone who might have a word of criticism for this particular bright ray of sunshine would have little difficulty seeing that ugly repciprocal feedback would be inevitable.
A seller has to really pi$$ someone of BADLY in order to get negative feedback from anyone who's given it before because you can count on it resulting in an added negative to your own feebdack rating.
I bought a "genuine leather quiver in great shape" from someone who reminds me a lot of chickenho. Turned out to be cheap, cracked vinyl - (the blurry picture should have tipped me off). I got called everything but a white man for telling him that the deal was no good and the item wasn't as described at all.
