Default 3 cheers for SRP's resident resto artists!

    Howdy,
I just wanted to give a big and a shout out to the “semi-pro” restorers (I only say “semi-pro” as it’s not your main profession.) doing amazing restorations for members here and customers.

Some people don’t realize what it really takes to bring a razor from ugly to pristine. Even if everything goes according to plan it still takes so many hours that you’re working for peanuts. If it doesn’t, well… there’s some more hours in. I recently helped a friend with his 1st resto, and he was blown away how many time consuming steps there were from soup to nuts.

I love restoring straights, but I don't think that I could handle doing it for others, particularly on a regular basis. Someday I may sell a razor or two, but that's nothing like the services being offered here.

So three cheers to Glen, Dan, Max and all the others that are doing great restoration work for members!

I agree with the kudos to the restorers. I can't even handle putting that kind of time and effort in for myself.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Agreed! Especially for sharing their knowledge so freely with the rest of us.

These guys are taking vintage razors and turning them into
modern masterpieces while preserving the original spirit of
    the blade -- very cool!

    Keep on creating, guys.
