It was a crazy week, but we finally found a place! We'll be making the move June 13th, and we are very excited.
We really fell in love with the city.

Thanked: 995Spring is a good time to move here. You will find a full schedule of cool stuff going on all summer and well into the fall.

It seems like a friendly place with lots going on. I was told the lake by our house has free concerts in the summer, so we are looking forward to that. We used to catch the free concerts in Golden Gate Park when we lived in San Francisco. It's just a great excuse for a picnic.

We are here, and all moved in. So far, this was a nice change from Chicago.
One questions to the locals. Any confirmed place to buy Maas?
Thanks,
Dave

Thanked: 3795Hopefully you'll have better luck finding Maas in Minnesota than I did in Iowa. The only place I could find it was online.

Thanked: 158I just moved back to Madison, but I live in MPLS during the winter and spring each year. I did some extensive searching for wet-shaving supplies when I was there this past spring, so I thought I would add what I found. You may want to call ahead or check online to confirm some of the product availabilities to be sure:
Barbershops
- Heimie's Haberdashery (as was mentioned). I've heard you can get a good shave here, but have never experienced it myself (yet!). They sell T&H products, and Mustache Jim, one of the barbers, will sing as he shaves you if you want.
- Winston's Barbershop on Lake Street in Uptown East of Hennepin. They do straight shaves on weekends here (possibly only Sundays). They also carry brushes, creams, and aftershaves from E-Shave.
- Floyd's Barbershop in Uptown on Lake St. Their site says you can get a shave here, but better check to make sure it is a full straight razor shave.
Wet-shaving supplies
- Southdale Mall in Edina: Crabtree & Evelyn (brushes, creams, soaps, aftershaves), The Body Shop (creams, brush, aftershaves), Bath and Body Works (C.O. Bigelow cream, aftershaves), also stop in at Juut Salon for Aveda AS Balm (and a haircut from my girlfriend ).
- Mall of America: Crabtree & Evelyn, L'Occitane (soap, aftershaves, cream, soap), The Body Shop, Bath and Body Works, Aveda, Sephora, Nordstrom's (Art of Shaving creams, balms, etc.)
- The Galleria in Edina: L'Occitane, Ampersand (Better offerings from Art of Shaving compared to the Mall of America: Creams, Balms, Soaps, Brushes, Straights, Strops, etc.). Kiehl's (creams, aftershaves) is also in Ampersand.
- Neiman Marcus in downtown: Kiehl's
- Cherie Boutique Francaise in Wayzata: Kiehl's, Art of Shaving, L'Occitane
- The Garden of Eden in St. Paul on Grand Ave. & Victoria: Colonel Conk (soaps, styptic, brushes), Pre de Provence (creams, balms, soap), Kiss My Face (cream), Casswell-Massey (balms), Royall (aftershaves/cologne), Lucky Tiger (aftershave), Alba (creams)
- TBS mart on Portland just off of 494 in Richfield carries the Indian creams made by Godrej. It is a good, cheap cream, but I'm not a fan of the scents.
....Yeah, I looked around while I was there. Just a bit
Hopefully someone else will jump in and tell you where to find some MAAS. I've never looked for it. I am really a fan of the Twin Cities.

Thanked: 51St. Paul/Mlps Club?
Hi guys, I'm in Hudson.WI which is just 15 min from downtown St. Paul. Do you all have a shaving club? I think with the number of people here who are in the metro area should really think about doing this. I am very new to this style of shaving and have been a DE shaver for several years. Straight razor's have always fascinated me and have just received 5 vintage straights that I am going to restore. I am in the process right now of doing a restore on a "Liana" 6/8ths razor right now that has a ton of pitting. Going to also re-do a set of scales too. Scales I think will be curly maple stained dark ( honey oak) with a ebony wedge.
Let me know if anyone is interested in getting a Straight Club together because I would be interested.

Thanked: 3795Since us Iowegian shavers are rather sparse, I'd certainly like to come up to another MN get-together.
