The ad says "...rare quality German Straight Razor..." and you can't really argue with that. If it came from Wald-Solingen, quality is built in. And I've never seen anything like it, so it's gotta' be rare.

It's looks to me like someone broke a chunk out of the blade and sharpened what was left.

Of course: this is one of those rare and useful "concave surface" razors.
It's used to shave those annoying areas below the nose and around the Adam's apple.
Of course, you need an equally rare and useful strop and hone to go with it.
