Default Topic: Hair Tonic / Hair Groom

Now I use Brylcreem when my hair is short. I like the smell and the non-sticky, nasty hold that I get with the product. I have tried American Crew light hold stuff and it feels like stiff hairspray. Which to me feels nasty.

I am considering hair tonic as well because my hair grows so fast that Brylcreem fails to work after a week and a half. The stores all carry Vitalis, Lucky Tiger makes one as well.

Who uses Hair Groom and Hair tonics and what are your thoughts on the uses and benefits of the products.

hair tonic eh? Not trying to be funny or disrespectful to you but that takes me back to when I was a kid and when you went to a barber for a haircut they loved to use leschols hair trainer which left your hair looking and feeling like straw. Your post took me back to that horrible experience.

I use Luck Tiger 3 Purpose hair tonic every day. I like it. I also have half a bottle remaining of Luck Tiger 3 Roses hair tonic - has been discontinued last I checked.

I also use Murray's Pomade in the orange can - very good hold, really sticky though and stays in your hair for a couple of days.

Also have tried Barry's Tricopherous hair tonic made by Lanman and Kemp (same manufacturer as Florida Water), Wild Root Creme Oil Hair dressing (another oldy), Brylcreem (have been thinking about getting another tube), Pinaud's Eau d' Portugal and Eau d' Quinine hair tonics, Tres Flores Brilliantine, and even Bay Rum which has been used as a hair tonic for many years.

Oh yes, and Pinaud's Clubman hair styling gel - smells really good.

Come to think of it, I've put so much cr@p in my hair over the years, my scalp will probably outlast me.

Use a Hair Tonic everyday. Good for the Scalp and the hair. The hold is very light though so not sure what your looking for from a hold stand point. CAR hair cream rocks if you are looking for a little more control always have a bottle open.

I use Lucky Tiger 3 Roses tonic. you can buy it at many local barbershops, but it's getting harder to find. pity. you can still get the 3 purpose.
