Default I'm a CHAT dummy! Please help

I opened the chat tab last evening hoping to learn and possibly participate in the resto chat. I have to admit never having been on a chat program before and I was TOTALLY LOST. Try as I may I could not figure out how to get past the rapidly progressing one liners. Is there a wiki to figuring this chat thing out. Or am I too old for such things?

i think the 'one liners' are the actual chat - they start with the screenname of the person and are in different colors so that they can be navigated easier.
then below that there's a box where you can type what you want to say and it will appear among the other one liners when you submit it.

it's a text chat, not an audio conference, sorry if that's a bit confusing
on the up side we have plenty of really old guys (e.g. glen and doc) who use it, so it's not too bad.

Of course there is: Using the SRP Chat - Straight Razor Place Wiki.

And no, you are not. I am pretty old myself, and can still use it. Admittedly, I use a dedicated chat client rather than the chat interface on the site you used.

Hm. Are you going to give me one of your gazillion Ducks if I promise not to post the chat logs? You know, the ones where we were discussing chat clients...?

If they are really old, what does that make you Gugi? :

Thanks all. I knew that there must be a WIKI, even tho I have no idea what WIKI really stands for. Hey maybe there is a wiki to explain what wiki stands for. I'll get it yet.

BeBerlin, thanks. You learn something new every day. Oh and I printed the WIKI on SRP chat room. Wow, I'm sure that it will take me the rest of my life to figure it all out. So many options. Can I just take a pill?

The easiest to install is probably Chatzilla for Firefox. If I were you, I would try Pidgin, though. No need to bother with the rest of the clients. Good luck!
