OW!
I had the worst cut today..
I was shaving with my Bengall this morning when my mother in law, her husband, and my brother in law barged into my house when my wife wasn't home (they didn't call or anything). I got scared ****less and fish filleted the side of my lip area. There's now a little flap of skin that hangs off. I put the skin back over the cut and used a lot of styptic, antibiotic oinment and bandaids. I now look like I was in a knife fight last night with this bandage on my face. When my wife comes home she is going to flip out since tonight is his graduation from Grad school and we're all going.
Now I hope I'm not scarred for life.

Thanked: 171I don't know if by antibiotic you meant neosporin, but that stuff is pretty good. Helps it to heal faster and seems to reduce scarring too.
Hope it heals up nicely for you!

What? No pics?
It used to be that knocking was the appropriate way to gain entrance into someone elses domicile. When did just walking into the front door without permission become the norm?
Sorry for your cut! Make sure they understand what their thoughtlessness caused.

This could be great leverage come birthdays, Christmas, etc.

Vitamin E oil is fantastic for healing and minimizing scarring. Antibiotic ointments like Neosporin can *increase* scarring since they're made with petroleum jelly base - which, spread over the cut, will *prevent it from closing* by forming a layer on both faces of the cut and preventing re-joining of the wound's 'faces'.
If you use vitamin E oil, be sure to get edible quality oil and apply it cleanly - using gel capsules meant for vitamin supplements is a great way to do that. Gel caps are essentially single use containers/applicators... just nick one end, squeeze out a small drop and then apply from the *second* drop to ensure cleanliness.
Luck with your healing!
