How long can you go without shaving?
Hey all,
So I'm a student (working on my 2nd degree now ) and I have the summer off for a couple of months.
I wanted to see how much of a beard I could grow and figured this would be the perfect opportunity since I have time off and have nobody to impress.
It lasted for only about 4 days!!! I shaved just my neck a few times in those 4 days, but I was REALLY missing having a longer shave! I very much enjoy shaving my entire face, it feels so nice doing it and it feels quite nice afterwards.
Has anybody else tried to grow facial hair but given up simply because it is just too damn fun to shave it off?

no, but my beard has gotten smaller and smaller, and lost the chin, just because I wanted to shave more. So I'm with you. Thinking about taking it all off soon in spite of the SWMBO's objections. Never shaved my upper lip! Gotta try it!

I can grow it as long as I like. The itching is what makes me want to shave it sooner.

Thanked: 278And when it gets really long you can't even scratch properly!
I wish I'd known about straights or even DEs when I was in my 20s and grew a bushy beard to avoid shaving with electrics and cartridge razors. Even knowing about decent shaving soap would have changed my life somewhat.

Thanked: 1195I was a strong advocate of facial hair (of all descriptions) from the time I could grow something decent (teens) to my mid 20's. I've had nearly every style possible, so I know the "itch" is something I can overcome. Or could at least.
I think the longest time I went without shaving, or even trimming for that matter, was nearly 4 months. I looked like our good friend Rajagra before he took up straight shaving.
Now it's a different story. The wife keeps asking me if I'll ever have facial hair again, and I don't know what to tell her. Part of me thinks I'll get out of practice if I do. After she bugged me enough I comprimised by growing my sideburns out again, but just to the earlobe! I have to save some of my face to shave

I always keep my chin wiskers, but I'll put off shaving for a week only because i want to give my skin a break, but more especially I hold off a shave just for the final release I feel when I do get some time with my cut throat. You know the feeling.

I used to be able to go as long as I wanted to but in the last year and a half, if I dont shave at least every third day I get these nasty red blotches on my chin.

I just went about 4 days - for no particular reason - and the itch was really getting to me. So it was Henckels 18, a Shavemac silvertip and GFT shave cream to the rescue. Now I can't stop touching my face - ah, relief.

Thanked: 5SWMBO doesn't like facial hair. I don't have a beard that's thick enough to grow anything worthwhile anyway. Just quite coarse hair, most of which is located near the line going from ear to ear over the chin.
