Unhappy I think I Scared a Girl Off With my Razors

She...didn't seem to know how to react. She saw them in the bathroom and asked about them. I said it's a hobby I've had for a while. She didn't believe me, so I showed her the YouTube video. She asked me to explain how I didn't cut myself. I said I've been at it a while. She just...had no words. Said it was, "very unusual," and that I was "unlike any of her friends."

I drove her home and she said she wanted to get together again. But wow, I've never experienced a reaction like that. She's a country girl and the people she's used to are all pretty much the same, she told me...so I guess this was a shock.

In a nutshell, I have never experienced razor discrimination before! I don't want to be "the usual"! I consider myself a creative and thoughtful person and if I'm the only one she's met, well -- what can I say? I didn't really have a response that could make it seem "normal" to her. It'd be like if someone who could read saw your book shelf and was like, "Pfft - you read books?" And then you were like, "Well yeah, why not?"

Looking at the title now that I've posted it, maybe it should have been "I think my Razors Scared a Girl Off."

It kind of implies that I used the razors to do the scaring as it is! Ha. They did it on their own!

FWIW, any woman who has lead such a deeply sheltered life that she would be scared off because you don't use a disposable to shave with, is probably not worth worrying about.

Also, I laughed my butt off when I read this, so thanks for that. lol

    That's an extreme reaction!

Maybe she was being complementary? or did the body language say otherwise?

*1, not worth the time. Who knows what else will freak her out. If she does show more interest in you or you just want to play with her, ask her how her great grandfathers and great uncles shaved? See if she does any 'old school' things, then point them out. Maybe you can break her out of her shell for s short while.

I understand. I tell my girlfriend that if her Pekenese (I guess that how you spell it) mutt were to crap on my floor again I am going to shave it. She thinks I am nuts and demands that if we get married my life insurance cover stupidity sharp neck trauma.
Keep at it! There are plenty of females in the world.

Heh. I'm not stressing or anything.

This girl just seemed to think it was weird. If anything, I'm a lot more cultured than her. But still... 20 years old...brown hair, blue eyes, great boobs. I'll have to report back with the progress. Or lack thereof.

Maybe she just saw "Sweeny Todd" lately... with a vivid mind, she could have pictured you bloody-shaving around

As she said she was willing to see you again, I would say that she maybe worth the time, at least to show her that you are an unusual-funny-smart guy, and not only because of your razors; it's quite a good sign that she is willing to overcome her first impression, and was asking questions, isn't it?

I believe my reaction would have been somewhat the same, if I were to see a collection of straight razors, the first time a saw my girlfried!
On the bright side she could have "Pulled out a 45 and let You have i right smack between the eyes" Ry Cooder - that's how the girls are from texas.
Luckely You didn't offer her a close shave - did You!
