Thanked: 402LOL and vice versa! I already have two guys on my minus list.
Blade Wielder, don't worry, you're a cute guy
(I can say that cause I'm old, LOL)
and won't have to wait long.
But stack them away. Its really better for the razors.

Thanked: 234yes, it is probably not a bad idea to put them away some where. Since I got my box, most of my razors are in there on my worktop in my room, some others are in a draw.
I don't really need the hassle of some eejit dropping one or slicing them selves up in the bathroom.
My friends, male and female, do not understand it - this goes from nearly caring and being interested enough to ask a few questions all the way to looking at you as if you're talking about carpet.
Even some guys just don't appreciate how awesomely sharp and shiney they are.

I usually heed the advice of AFDavis, but sometimes I get caught unprepared. During those cases, I just state two sentences: "I use them to shave. Don't touch." I employ the patented dead-pan poker face during the verbalization of this statement so I do not convey any other meaning besides just the words.
Just repeating those two sentences usually answers all of their questions.
Then I pick them up and put them in a safe place.
If a woman gets all squirrely about the razors ... I know I didnt wait long enough or she's squirrely. Either way, she's gone and I'm probably better off for it lol.

There was only one straight razor out in the open in the bathroom, which is the one I use for decoration. It's got nice scales, but there's a big chunk out of the toe of the blade, so it just stays closed. The rest were safely tucked away.
None of this is a big deal or anything...I've just always thought straight razors were badass, even before I started using them. Why doesn't everyone feel the same way?

Thanked: 4The fact that she didn't say, "Wow, that's fascinating. Tell me more about it." Tells you all you need to know about this person and her potential for you.

Thanked: 267Most true country girls have slaughtered a steer, pig, or chicken or two.
You might be misreading the reaction. I think she will be comin around again.

I got a similar response when I posted a restoration on facebook. One of my female friends didn't believe that I would actually shave with a str8. Then was sure it would be just a matter of time before I killed myself.

Tell the truth BW, its not the first time you've scared a girl away, and to blame it on the razors, that just cheap!
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
