Thanked: 324Ebay - sometimes you come out a big winner!
I've had some sour deals on Ebay, but I've had some really great surprises, too. A few days ago I received a couple razors I bought for 3 dollars plus 2 dollars shipping. The ad had no picture and only said "two Henckels razors with black handles and one box. One razor is broken."
What the heck, for five bucks? Turned out to be a matched set of Henckels 5/8" Graeff & Schmitt with shoulderless grind in the original Henckels box set. Neither razor had ever been put on a hone and there were just a couple of specs of discoloration on the blades. The celluloid scales on one had cracked at the base pin. My bid was the only bid on it.
Another great find was when I got a very nice Wade and Butcher Keene Kutter in mint condition for less than $20.00 and was asked if I wanted the "sharpening stone" that they forgot to mention in the auction.... turned out to be a really nice belgian hone in super condition complete with the wooden box.case.
Those kind of surprises keep Ebay interesting.

Thanked: 4942You know this brings up an intersting point. I think I'll create a topic where folks can ask for opinion on ebay razors they are thinking about buying. It might help folks get some great deals in the future by learning what to look for and values. Thanks. Lynn
