Thanks for the tip. The ants sound useful, but heating the knife would bugger the chances of another shave from it, forcing me to use a flint.

Well, you could always use the knife to cut the heads off the ants without heating it, it's just not as manly.

Well I've seem people sharpen quite a few knives to shave with, including a machete, however, I cannot do that, as I'm not THAT good at honing yet. But this wouldn't be a problem cuz I would never forget my straight, so I'm gonna have to say B.

I think A is possible, though I would struggle to achieve it.

Since the angle of the edge bevel is greater on a knife , than on a razor . You will never get a knife as sharp as a razor . You might get a halfassed (at best) shave from an extremly sharp knife , maybe . IMHO using a knife for a razor would be the same as using an axe for a knife . Besides , I don't shave when I go camping .

Why would you give a crap what she thinks? In all honesty, she has been out there as long as you have, do you really want it?

    E. None of the above.

Kick the whiner out of the sleeping bag; there is no reason why the guys always need to end up the kickees. Of course you'll never get any again, but that's what mistresses were invented for.

Can you tell I'm a bachelor?

Oh yes, that blade can be made sharp enough for a good shave, maybe even a great shave, but I'd never get caught in a corner like that.

Indeed this is the correct line of thought. And my answer is 'absolutely', 3 days is way too much. And so my answer would be:
    - I'm getting what I need anyways, and I've got a knife sharp enough to get me there one way or another.

You probably can tell I ain't married....
