This is probably the store I miss most since my move to Minneapolis.

I've heard rumors that these guys stock Floid aftershave? Can you confirm this rumor?

I was in Chicago for the Cubs/Dodgers game recently, and I always stay at the Four Seasons, so I went down to Truefitt and Hill for a shave. It's a pricey shave, and they have a great pre-shave routine, etc., but the cheap disposable razors that they use are terrible, so it certainly wasn't the best shave I have ever had. I figured they would use a nice Dovo Shavette or something like that, but they didn't--I suppose it would be too expensive to use a new blade in one of those for each customer. However, that said, the experience was very nice and the shop is gorgeous! They have an amazing selection of products, high end brushes, as well as a few nice straights. I was surprised though that the people who worked up front, and even the barbers, knew very little about straight razors. I found myself informing who I assumed to be the shop manager about some of the stuff he carried at his store. Nonetheless, it was a pleasurable experience and I enjoyed it very much.

If you are looking for a great shave in chicago come on downtown to Van Buren Gentlemen's Salon. Jose Luis does a great straight razor hot lather shave. He used a hot towel and hot lather, it was really relaxing and a great shave. Best in Chicago.
