Thanked: 234Ah, sexism is alive and well I see. I can't say I'm surprised, for some reason men and women get quite possesive over their internet domains.
I'm glad that the the women here post where and when they feel like, just because that is preciesley how it should be. The distinct section is useful as a beacon, something obvious.

Thanked: 1I join a few days ago and would have never posted until I spied the lady's Corner. Sadly enough as a growing women I meet enough "men" who try and strong arm me and makes me question all the Good men out there like you guys.
I really am very grateful, I have learned soo much.
Now I wait for my razor in the mail....

I saw the thread over at B&B, too. And I actually posted there that SRP had many women who regularly contributed. I too was surprised at the number of fellas opposed. But, I have to say many of the men over there did pipe up and stand in favour of women participating. Just a few with lingering insecurity, I guess...

I am not familiar with B&B or the post aforementioned, but it may not be insecurity or sexism involved, maybe they just want to keep it as an eclusive mens club. I see nothing wrong with that if thats what they want. I myself am grateful for the participation of women on SRP, they are witty, insightful and a pleasure to know.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

Now you know why I'm not over across the street at B&B. Women shave, we use products and services, we buy things from other members and vendors for ourselves and our SOs, and most important of all.....we want to participate, learn and do it right.
Thank You, Gentlemen, to one and all

The fact that women have a presence here is probably why I feel comfortable here. After a forum I used to call my cyber-refuge shut down( RIP badlands ) I really didn't have a forum to go and unwind at. Having women here creates a good balance and atmosphere. I think Billy Joel wrote a song about it...well at least the first part.
"She has a way about her..."

Funny you should say this. The other day I was reading through posts and I was like, wow. If I didn't think about it, I could never tell who is a woman, man, black, white, gay, straight, etc, unless they posted it somewhere and I actually thought about it like, Olivia is a woman, or Utopian's name is Ron, or Kees is in the Netherlands etc.
This is evidence of what an accepting, thoughtful community can do... break through the physical and into the realm of what I believe people truly are, thoughts and feelings and actions, less than physical beings. Don't worry, I have real friends too. I'm just saying this is a nice testament to the whole colorblindness theory.
