Default Are TIs really that much better?

I've read plenty of posts that have placed Thiers-Issard razors at the top of guys' preferred lists (at least when compared with those currently or recently produced).

Are TI razors really that noticably better than the rest of the mass production razors? (I suspect that the custom one-off razors would be very hard to beat.) How do they compare to the best vintage ones made in the "golden age" of straight razors?

I have about 8 TI's including their Damascus. I really like them. Bought an Egyptian last year and it was so good, I ordered another. Are there other good shavers?? You bet, but TI's are among my most favorite razors and shavers. Lynn

    Default TI's

Well, I don't have a TI *yet* (although I personally believe that the 7/8 Perlmann I have was made by TI)- until my two SRP Specials arrive, that is! I will lovingly get them scary sharp, shave with one, and report how they compare to my other favorites. CAN'T WAIT!!!

I have about 5 TIs and they are indeed very good shavers, among the best however I have several vintage shavers that shave better including some DDs, Dorko's and henkels.
