Thanked: 0Lynn's Video (and obsession)
Hey guys,
I'm new to the site, and still have yet to make my first hair defying stroke with a straight razor. I just wanted to say yall are all very helpful and seem to be a group of sincerly nice guys. I just watched Lynn's video and it was definetly a great aid in my straight shaving exploration. I almost couldnt believe my eyes when I saw all your razors Lynn, you have a friggin arsenal, a cornucopia, you could probably outfit the military with all your super sharp razors!
Also I am looking for a used razor and pretty much the classic poor college kid beginners set, so if you have one let me know.
Thanks
Sam

Thanked: 17Welcome JarHeads!
Welcome to you Jarheads, from an old Vietnam era Army Recon guy!
This is a great place to be.... the members here are like the elite Special Forces of shaving. I have even seen straight blades engraved for the USMC in the past! Shaving with a straight razor is the *perfect* method for the military.
The folks here will answer any question, to the most minute level, that you can ever come up with. We will encourage, cajole, motivate, and cultivate you knowledge and passion for straight shaving. We are preserving and reviving the Lost Art, and hope you find as much pleasure and fun in it as we do!
The very first time you find a mint straight razor for cheap at a flea market, or trade show, I just BET you shout HOO-AHH!! out loud in your car in the parking lot!
Welcome to SRP, Welcome Home, and Stand At Ease - this is fun!

Thanked: 0Its great to get your motivated responses. I am a junior down here at Tulane university in New Orleans, Marine Corps ROTC, just got back from Mountain Warfare Training in Cali and figured it was time to make a razor commitment. Im planning on flying Cobras if all goes well, but with the military lol we all know how that goes. However Iv got eye surgery coming up and with that Thailand trip my account is running on E.
Talk to yall later.

Welcome aboard bro, I would look at Lynn's razors, shave ready and very nice. That's the way I got my first razor I could actually shave with.
