The Bigspendurs Weekly Shaving Brainbuster #5 and Prize Giveaway
Good morning shaving fiends.
Let me take you all back to those thrilling days of yesteryear as the… Most of us who are getting long in tooth will remember that line to be from the opening to the Lone Ranger Western Serial from the 1950s which was before that a radio program.
This weeks shaving brainbuster will require you to answer several questions designed to test your ingenuity, CREATIVE THINKING and overall smarts. It more about western lore than shaving. The winner will receive a shaving prize. What that prize is will depend on the number or people who take part and the quality of the answers. If the answers are bad enough I do have the shaving equivalent of a lump of coal.
So let’s get started.
The Lone Ranger was a Texas Ranger who went out with several other Rangers in search of the Butch Cavendish gang who ambushed the Rangers and killed all but one. This guy was discovered by a lone Indian, Tonto who nursed him back to health. This wounded Ranger became the Lone Ranger and Tonto was the kemosabi, his traveling companion. The Lone Ranger operated in West Texas and parts of what were to become New Mexico.
What is not known is that though the Lone Ranger is a mythical character it was loosely based on the exploits of a Deputy U.S Marshal who operated in the Indian Territories in Oklahoma and worked out of Ft. Smith for the famous hanging Judge. In fact this marshal was the first African American Marshal and used disguises to effect his arrests partly as a tool and partly because he had been threatened with assassination so many times.
Question one-is this true or is it all a bunch of hooey or is it partly true? If part true
which part or parts are true? (The part about the Rangers history, 1st
paragraph is true)
Question two-The Lone Ranger never took off his mask yet he was clean shaven. How
did he shave without taking off his mask?
Question three-What did the Lone Ranger use to shave with? Did Tonto have some secret
shaving tool?
Question four-The Lone ranger was played on T.V by Clayton Moore however another
dude played the part for a season when Moore had a contract dispute with
the studio. Who was this other actor? (this is a freebee I know your all
going to look it up in the wiki)
Question five-The Rangers horse was named Silver and he did not have a standard bit in
his mouth. He actually had no bit at all. Why not?
Question six-The Ranger used bullets made of what metal?
Well, there you have it. We’ll let this one run until next Saturday at which time I’ll announce the correct answers and who the winner is and the prize.
Good Luck and Hiyoo Silver away!No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Well I know that he used silver bullets. I heard he met his demise when he and Tonto were totally surrounded by hostile indians. He is said to have looked over at Tonto and said,"Tonto, we are surrounded". Tonto replied, "Whaddaya mean we Kemosabe ?"
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Question one-is this true or is it all a bunch of hooey or is it partly true? If part true
which part or parts are true? (The part about the Rangers history, 1st
paragraph is true)
Well, I think the Lone Ranger is a mythical character. And I think it was loosely based on the exploits of a Deputy U.S Marshal who operated in the Indian Territories in Oklahoma and worked out of Ft. Smith for the famous hanging Judge. That marshal was indeed most likely the first black Marshal, and he did use disguises and had been threatened with assassination. So I'm going to say it's all trueQuestion two-The Lone Ranger never took off his mask yet he was clean shaven. How
did he shave without taking off his mask?
I don't think he was actually clean "shaven". No facial hair ever dared mar his pure appearance, so he never even had a beard to shaveQuestion three-What did the Lone Ranger use to shave with? Did Tonto have some secret
shaving tool?
He used a dilapatory cream. Tonto had a secret shaving tool, but nobody knows what it was, not even the family of the director of the television seriesQuestion four-The Lone ranger was played on T.V by Clayton Moore however another
dude played the part for a season when Moore had a contract dispute with
the studio. Who was this other actor? (this is a freebee I know your all
going to look it up in the wiki)
I don't know and am too lazy to look it up. I'll take a wild guess though: Dudley Moore, yuk yuk yuk [eh, I looked it up. John Hart.]Question five-The Rangers horse was named Silver and he did not have a standard bit in
his mouth. He actually had no bit at all. Why not?
He bit it offQuestion six-The Ranger used bullets made of what metal?
He was related to Mr. Ed
Silver was actually a she (true or load of hooey? stay tuned; if I win I'll give you the answer)

A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust, and a hearty "Hi-yo, Silver!", The Lone Ranger!
Question One: partly true. the history of the lone rangers is true. however the part about it being loosely based off of the first african american marshall i dont think is true, even tho it worked in blazing saddles i dont believe it would have worked in that time.
Question Two: his mask doesnt really cover that much of his face so it would have been possible for him to shave except for the fact that he didnt need to i will explain for the next question
Question Three: yes tonto did have a secret shaving tool. he sent smoke signals into the future and contacted Chuck Norris who came back in time and permanently round-housed the lone rangers beard off.
Question Four: John Hart
Question Five: Silver didnt have a bit because he was the fastest and greatest horse ever and you simple cannot control that kind of raw and purely amazing power, the lone ranger did it because he saved silvers life from a ****ed off buffalo so he was thankful.
Question Six: silver

and the winner is...
but first the answers.
The part about the African American Marshal is absolutely true but the character of the Lone Ranger is complete fiction.
The mask in the original episode was a hard form fitting item but after that it was a soft cloth so he just moved the material around.
he used an obsidian blade provided to him by Tonto.
John Hart played the Ranger for a season. he also played hawkeye in an early T.V series. He also played bit parts in the Lone Ranger and many other movies and T.V series.
Silver used a hackamore contraption not a bit. Something about the Ranger not wanting to break his spirit.
Of course the Ranger used Silver bullets.
So who won what?
What a bunch of lame answers. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. I'm embarassed to even award a prize so it has to be the best of the worst so Sparky is the winner.
Send me an E-Mail with your address and I'll send you your prize. What is the prize? I will only say it has a secret identity like the Ranger but it will fit the answers. Har Har.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
