    Default Sweet Razor, Sweet Shave

    Gentlemen,

This morning I took delight in shaving with my new Thiers-Issard Sheffield Silver Steel, 5/8, with Kingwood scales.

The razor was sharp, smooth, and at the end my skin bore not even the slightest sign of irritation after three passes. It was as if I had not shaved at all, were it not for erasing the 24-hour shadow.

I had no nicks, no razor burn, nothing but a refreshed face. Well, I did have one nick, I'm embarrassed to admit, and it was on the forefinger on my right hand. I zoned out momentarily and the blasted finger got in the way. Talk about hurting my pride.

This is a sweet shaver, gentlemen.

    Regards,

    Obie

Congratulations. Nothing more satisfying than knowing you got a good razor. Feel free to put it in our Straight Razor Data Base ("SRDB") and write a review.

    Regards,
    Robin

    Default Sweet Razor, Sweet Shave

    Robin,

Thank you for the kind words about the shave and the razor. Yes, I was most pleased with both.

I would love to put a picture of the razor on the site, but my level of expertise with these computing machine thingies is about 10 below zero. In fact, I have lost several posts while writing them. Where did they go? Gone, poof! Half the time I even screw up signing on and off.

Years ago I lost a couple short stories in there, and once I almost lost a complete novel. Talk about the world coming to an end. But that's another story.

Of course, I'll be delighted to write a review of the razor. After all, I make my modest living as a writer. Still, I would be grateful if someone would show me how I can put a picture up on the site — that is in as pedestrian a language as possible.

    Regards,

    Obie

    Default Sweet Razor, Sweet Shave

    Charlie,

Thank you. Yes, this is a lovely razor. It's not only sharp, but it also is smooth. The razor is also well put together, with impeccable fit and finish. I am most pleased with the new addition to my small razor collection.

    Regards,

    Obie

Sounds like a very rewarding experience. Honestly, I find it much easier to extract and load all manner of digital imagery with a linux operating system known as UBUNTU. It's free, at Ubuntu Home Page | Ubuntu, but since you claim to be "10 below zero in computer knowledge, you might need help installing it. The latest version will "pick up" that a new device has been connected, and even pop up a few choices of programs to access the newly located repository of ones and zeros.

The OS is FREE and they will even snail mail you an actual cd from which you can boot and run the OS to see if you like it or not.

If you do get it, and you want help, PM and I will assist as possible.

    Default Sweet Shave

    Duccati,

Thanks for your note. I need all the instruction in the world I can use. Gunner, from this forum, will help me with all that technical adventure. I will get in touch with him through e-mail this morning.

Thanks, and thanks to everyone for your help. You all are gentlemen, indeed.

    Regards,

    Obie

What happens to Windows and all the MS software, yadda yadda yadda that's being replaced by Ubunto? That's what scares me, the unknown and the related vocabulary and words that make it all pretty difficult to understand.
