Default Question re "Latest News" on Main SRP site...

I think the topics being posted in the News section on the homepage have great info and are good attention getters that will attract new people to the site. But, what happens to a "news" item's content when it disappears from the "latest news" area on the SRP main page? Is it retrievable, or lost forever? I ask because there are items there (ie, Dr. Phong's "test tube" and Randy's "custom scales" series ) that contain info which will be useful to new members in the future. It would be a shame if the info just "disappears". Could/should these be moved/created as threads in the appropriate forums (eg, Soaps/Mugs & Stuff and Straight Razor Restoration, respectively)?

My custom scales series is in my blog. So it should not be going away anytime soon. What I hope to do is to continue adding entries in the blog as this process continues. Eventually it may be nice to combine it with the info from others such as Bill Ellis, Mike Thompson, and others into a "how to" for people to use on there own. It wouyld then be added to the Permanent archives. Thats the hope anyway.

All good ideas Randy. I find your scale blog really helpful because it includes both what worked and what didn't. I'm often forced to improvise because I don't have the same tool, glue, wood, etc., so it's nice to know some of the problems to watch out for.
