I do the same thing. As always, pay strict attention when anywhere near a straight razor. I accidentally let my finger be slightly above the cutting edge prior to wiping, and was rewarded with a cut to the bone. A split-second lapse in attention is a very bad thing.

The moral of the story is that you have to know where the razor is at all times. besides when I first started The only times I have really cut myself was on my fingers usually when holding the razor in one hand with the edge pointing up and crossing over with my other hand to turn on the water or reach for something on the sink.
Those darn razors cut rite quick and deep in the blink of an eye.
