Default Where to buy shaving stuff in Oklahoma City

    Here's what I know:

    • Essentials is still in place at Casady Square, Penn & Britton on the west side of Penn, and doing fine. The ladies stay busy, and they will try their very best to help a customer. You've got to stop by there, if you have the time. Their shaving stock constantly changes and evolves. There's no telling what you might find there. Tell them a guy from Straight Razor Place named Gary sent you!
    • Carwin's is still inside North Park Mall, 122nd & May, it's located inside Winter House.
    • Penn Square Mall has 2 shops that sell shaving goods, Bath & Body Works, and The Body Shop (obviously, Crabtree & Evelyn is long gone)
    • There is a new little shop at 7101 N May, west side of the street, I can't tell you the name, and they primarily have a ton of cigars, tobacco, and (I think) coffee, and on the counter, next to the cash register, is a little (tiny) cabinet, where they keep a few Trumpers shaving products, soaps in wooden bowls mainly, but not a big variety, at least the last time I stopped by. Their focus is the cigars of course, and if you're into good cigars or pipe tobacco, that is the place to go.

    Hi Gary.

I have never been to any of those, except the cigar shop. Just don't go in there looking for a sub 100 dollar pipe or he'll run you off.

    Thanks for list. see ya

Anderson Barber Supply near downtown OKC, 1200 W. Main. Last time I was in, which was a few years ago, he had some new & used straights & stones, a couple of strops. The owner is an eldery gent who is more than happy to chit chat with you.

Barber Shop Corner, north of Wilshire on May Avenue, west side of May near the 7-11, has some Col. Conk soaps & cheap brushes for sale.

"Cigar & Co." is the name of the place at 7101 N. May.

I've heard the tobacco shop at NW 63rd & May has some shaving stuff, but I've never checked it out.

I believe Cottonwood Salon & Spa in Edmond, 35 E. 33rd Street, carries the eShave line of products.

I've also been to Anderson Barber Supply on West Main. That's where I bought my strop, Osage Rub, and some shoe polish. Nowadays, there is a wonderful lady behind the counter, very knowledgeable, probably the wife of the gentleman you met, and a younger man, I'm guessing the son. I enjoy going in and looking at their new and vintage razors and brushes. They also carry some Merkur razors and Dorco blades, in addition to what looks like a wide variety of Pinaud products. Thanks for reminding me.

Anderson has stones; what kind of stones.

I stopped at a Bshop just the other day to ask if he had any old junk to get rid of. He suggested Anderson, first I'd heard of it and probably going tomorrow

I think he has some Arkansas stones. You won't find a Norton or Belgian there, but might find a barber hone.

Thanks Kyle. I won't say you saved me a trip- I'll just see what's there anyway.

Any of you fellows have an idea of the brush selection at any of those shops?
I worked till noon yesterday, went home and packed the car, got the kids from pre-school/sitter and stated driving.
I got to Hydro/Weatherford (technically Hydro but can get to Weatherford faster) about 2 this afternoon. Unpacked, ran the kids for a bit to get them tired out after the 22hrs in the carc fed the baby, unpacked my dopp kit to get my brush, bowl, palmolive, and Fat Boy out and found that my brush is sitting in VA.

I'm not looking for anything crazy expensive; a Frank Shaving Best Badger and an Omega 10048 are my daily drivers and my wife let me get in on the Thater group buy as a birthday/Christmas present but this would be a perfect opportunity to pick up a Wee Scot or something of that ilk if I can find one around here without spending all day getting lost and trying to navigate the city.

Any advice on which shops would give me the best chance of finding it will be greatly appreciated.
