Porpoise Skin Strops
Ran into a great book about the history of Barbering, with many reproductions from mail order pages from magazines. I was surprised to see so many strops made out of porpoise skin! Must have made a great strop...

I had seen the pix of the "surfing" porpoise and cow before. Speaking a little jealously in a "wish I'd thought of that" mode, that is funny!

You'd be surprised at the plethora of critters used for strops through the years.
