Talking I MUST have this razor...

Though I have yet to master shaving with a straight razor, I would like to splurge just a bit and buy a "fancy" razor. I justify that idea by knowing it will outlive me if I take care of it and could be handed down as an heirloom if indeed "fancy" and unique(ish).

I love the looks of this razor and especially like the idea of having that 7/8 blade to contend with my coarse beard.

    I must have this!

However, I don't hear a whole lot about this French brand that still makes straights. And though I think the aesthetics of the olivewood is the cat's meow, I don't know how well this handle material will hold up after years of use. Will the water repelling treatment eventually wear off? Can it be reapplied?

You all have been a great help, thanks!

    Dan

(Oh, by the way... of the image on the blade, I recognize the ram, but is the opposing character an angry dog or something?)

    Cool

    Dan,

Some people feel that TI make some of the finest razors. The club razor is a TI. As for the olivewood I don't have a clue. Someone else can speak on this. As for 7/8's they are my favorites. I have 4 of them. I think the other creature is a bull.

    Oh, I'm pretty dense.

    TI = Thiers-Issard

Now I get it. In retrospect, I have read good things about them...

And here I was thinking TI was a new brand that I hadn't personally discovered yet. LOL

Still got that learnin' thing going on.

Very fine razor. You can't go wrong with these... And the Olive wood is one of the toughes (and prittiest) around. For reaplying finish on the scales, you can soak (or fully saturate) the handles once a year with mineral oil. It wont hurt the blade, too

    Thanks for the info, guys.

    Ruckeriii,

That's a very fair price! However, I'm really partial to that olivewood. But thanks for the offer.
There's no specific reason that you're wanting to sell them (besides to free up a few bucks), are you. Are you satisfied with the quality?

    Thanks again,

    Dan

The quality of the TI steel is some of the very best. I purchased 3 of the Ti SRP club razors and am very satisfied with the razors.

Speaking of TIs to dream about. Love those snakewood handles?

(Hey where's the picture I just uploaded? How do you attach a picture?)
