    Default Barbicide

Hi Folks, Any of you use Barbicide? Someone just gave me the whole set up for free. Do any of you use this to disinfect razors of combs or shears? And what is the proper mixture?? The bottle says 1/4 oz. to a quart of water, but with this mixture the solution looks very light and not as blue as Ive seen in the barber shops. My family will use this to keep our combs clean and safe. But that mixture looks to light. Any help would be appreciated.

I think a glass container of that blue liquid would look neat on the bathroom counter, but it's hardly necessary. Personal combs and razors can just be washed and rinsed at home. A professional barber could justify having one, though, since he would use the same instruments on many customers.

I would love to know where it can be purchased, if anyone knows.

I got mine here along with the mid-size container which came with two small bottles of barbercide.

Careful, today's version of Barbicde(plus) dissolves plastic combs left to soak ....

I use Clippercide, which is an aerosol spray made by the same company.

There is both the original Barbicide and Barbicide Plus. The latter is far stronger and will even kill the Tuberculosis virus. I use the regular stuff simply because it does look cool.

They have three sizes of jars. The tall one which is too tall, the short one which is too short if you use the tray so I just removed ine from the attached lid and drop the razor in plain for a minute or two.
They also have a tiny cup for manicure instruments.

They are on eBay all the time.

AFDavis. I think you are nearby here in Maryland. Try any Sally Beauty Supply. The whole thing with samples is like $15 or so.

By the way, since it's made for clippers it also has a lubricant in it, which is another advantage. I put away my razors sanitized and lubed.
