Thread: straight razor world

please remove this thread if it's out of line - i'm being nosey!

what's with the sarcastic "batman" style threads on the "other" forum? i've noticed that a couple of people here use it and was wondering what it's all about?

it wasn't a very positive first impression when i checked the site out!

The short version goes something like this:
One of the list members volunteered to create a web-based site to move us away from Yahoo. It ended up coming off like a takeover attempt. Some folks over there can't seem to part ways and move on with life. It's sad, as some of the guys were really quite helpful.

Lost me on the Batman as well. Guess some folks have the need to carry a grudge forever. I have seen stuff left on other sites that simply shows no merit or positive contribution to straight razors at all........lol. We remain the first forum like this on the web and still deliver the most accurate straight razor shaving information available. Most folks got their start here and most information out there was gathered here first. As a matter of fact, you will see the same information repeated on all the sites out there including all the same questions we have been answering for the past 5 years. We really have gotten over the imitations, back biting, behind the scenes BS and folks who need extra special recognition. All the folks here are extra special!!!! Stick around and enjoy. Lynn

it's not that, i just thought that for someone like myself, who is new to these forums, it not a very nice thing to be reading and didn't give their forum the friendly feel you get here. here it's all and there it's all

Yeah, it's too bad. The guy who wrote that stuff is still a moderator at one of the imitation sites. I'm hopeful it will pass over time and it's certainly been enough time already. Have fun. Lynn
