    Question 3 Pin razors.

I have several 3 pin razors. Does anyone else like them? What kind do you favor and why. I have Hess Hair Milks,Gotta's,DD's,Henckels and Bokers. Any one have any favorites the stand out?

I think unless your talking a larger razor its just a style thing. I have several and in the larger ones it makes sense from a stability point but in a 4/8, 5/8 it doesn't matter to me. I've heard people say three pins means its better quality but many top notch razors don't use three pins.

I always figured the same thing until my Henckel edge touched the inside of the scale once while closing. A third pin would have stabilised the scales just enough so that COULDN'T happen.

I'd have to guess that on specialty handles the 3 pin would be critical to prevention of breakage. I'm going to be making some handles out of elk horn(antler) material as soon as my supplies come in and i'm definitely going to take a 3 pin approach on those.
