A question for SRP razor owners.
Last week while honing up my two SRP razors for the Grand Experiment I was really amazed how even though I have #s 38 and 39 there was no similarity between the two at all. One shaved pretty good out of the box and the other didn't shave at all. One required little honing to get it shave ready while the other took about an hour or more of work.
So then I got to thinking, just because one is 38 and the other is 39 does that necessarily mean they were produced that way or were they sent to the lazer engraving place as a group and some yahoo just numbered them as he picked them up? Maybe number 200 was produced with number 1! Does anyone have any ideas about this?No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 17SRPs....
Well, I have been shaving with #30, and have #29 put away for safe keeping, untouched. My impression was that they both needed a small honing out fo the box, but were very close.
#30 is holding its edge with minimal stropping through multiple shaves so far! In fact, I got that sucker a little TOO sharp, and it began to gain a purchse on my skin with little presure, so I "stropped down" a bit to tame it al little. Works great!
