Thanked: 2209Hello Lynn, just to let you know this razor's edge disintgrated on me three times. Literally, chunks of the bevel fell off while on the 1000 grit stone, 3 times!! If you really want to take a stab at it feel free to do so, send me your address again and I will ship it to you. I have never had any other razor behave like this one. I will not spend any more time on this one.

Thanked: 4942Hi Randy, Not if the edge is doing what you are talking about. I have never seen on do this from being heated from a Dremel. Especially never a W&B. I wonder if something else is wrong? Lynn

I've used a dremmel many times to clean up razors but I'm real careful about keeping the dremmel away from the edge. The slightest touch to the edge will destroy it. As has been said you got to keep it moving and use low speed. I keep testing and if it really starts to heat up I stop until it cools down.
The only time I messed up a razor with heat was when I was repinning a blade and was redrilling the pivot hole and it took about ten minutes to drill through and what actually happened was the drill wouldn't do the job and the heat finally melted the hole through. The blade turned a pretty shade of blue. That razor went into the garbage and I learned my lesson early on.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 2209He said he had used a grinder on it and it is quite shiney. My guess, and its only that, is that the combination of the heat stress and the vibration induced stress caused fractures in the micro-crysrtalline structure of the steel.
