    Default Hello everyone

I'm new on the forum so I thought I'd just say hello and introduce myself.

I've been using a Mach3 now for five years, but these last months I've gotten fed up with constantly buying Gilette's expensive blades and still not getting that close shave. Not to mention their awful marketing campaigns; do they really think men are such morons that will buy everything with a jet fighter or a F1-car on it? Anyway, I started looking for alternatives and considered a double edge or a shavette but decided to go for the real thing.

After reading alot of posts in the forum and checking out the help files I've now ordered a basic setup. I can't wait for the deliveries, but I've already had a nightmare about slicing a piece of my cheek off

See you all in the forum!

ps. I found SRP through a swedish blog about style. Is there anyone else here from Sweden?

    Welcome, Swedish fellow.

You will not be disappointed with the straight razor. It is the most masculine way to shave in existence. (Unless you shave with a boey knife like Crococile Dundee.) It's also very effective. And stylish. Yes, there are simply not enough good things to say about it.

I picked up the straight and had a shave a few minutes ago, actually. First one in quite a while. A close shave, as always.

    Smile Welcome Fellow Northerner

Although not from Sweden I did have a girlfriend who exchanged there years ago. I understand you also enjoy 6 months of winter over much of your country. How brave of you then to remove natures face warming beard with a straight razor. I'm sure your dream was not a prophetic one and forsee many great shaves in the future. How can I be sure? You've come to the right place. The honourableness of these gentlemen cannot be overstated. You will be enthusiastically provided with answers to all your concerns and progress quickly like so many who have gone before.

    Again, welcome.

    X

    Welcome misj,

You will not be disappointed, it is truely a great way to shave and if do not become addicted to buying razors a cheaper method. My wife is 1/4 Swedish.

    Default Welcome!

Well I'm not Swedish, but I drove a SAAB for 14 years, until GM bought them :-( I love the food, every Swedish person I've met has been very cool (guys) or very hot (gals), and Kaj Embretsen makes some fantastic knives. He's the only custom maker from Sweden I know of. The Swedish steels in razors are some of the best shavers around. OK ENOUGH about Sweden. Glad to have you here. As said many times above, there are some good guys here, and we'll do anything we can to help you along. Good choice going with a str8. It takes commitment, but if you go the distance you'll be glad you did. Before long it will be second nature. Be a presence here. It'll do you and us some good...Jeff

    misj,

Welcome to the party. You'll find fun, information, and be led down the path to an expensive hobby. Life is good here, so enjoy.

Oh, I once heard part of a song by ABBA. Does that count? (Don't answer, I already know the anwer!)
