Thanked: 3Anyone seen '1900 House'?
'1900 House' was a BBC show made in 1999 where they took an average family and had them live in a restored Victorian home and only use the technology available in 1900 for three months. Great show, highly recommend it.
I bring it up because the husband had to learn to shave with a straight razor and they spend some time on his difficulties with it. He is obviously scared to death of the thing and can't seem to figure out it's use, and ends up going to a barber to get some pointers and a good shave after a week.
I think many of you would enjoy the series (I got it from Netflix), especially those of you who, like me, enjoy the historical aspect of shaving and history in general.

I did get to see an episode or two. I think it was toward the end of the series. I liked the show but didn't see it come back around on PBS. I didn't see the shaving part. I'll have to rent it. Thanks for posting about this.

Thanked: 3I think there are only four parts (all on one disk), and his shaving issues are in the second part.
I would love to do something like that...I say confidently, as I sit here in my climate controlled office, typing on a computer...

I've had the itch to do something like that myself from time to time. Maybe after I'm retired.....
A couple other interesting PBS programs along those lines.....
